Tastaturen für PCs (English bellow)

Ich habe derzeit (August 2020) mehrere Tastaturen bei eBay eingestellt und stehe im Dialog mit Menschen, die anscheinend ähnliche Probleme haben/hatten, wie ich.

Ich bin 1987 zum ersten Mal in Berührung mit EDV gekommen. Im Gegensatz zu manch anderen Berufen habe ich tatsächlich nie richtig Tippen gelernt. Ich hatte immer das Gefühl, dass das sehr vielen Kolleginnen und Kollegen in diesem Beruf betrifft. Auch spätere Bestrebungen, die Geschwindigkeit meines Tippens zu verbessern, fruchteten nicht, wahrscheinlich fehlte es an Ehrgeiz.

Wenn man zum genannten Zeitpunkt mit EDV zu tun hatte, traf man unweigerlich auf IBM-Tastaturen. Diese waren schrecklich laut, aber wie ich jetzt weiß, unglaublich gut. Sie gaben Feedback und man hatte immer gewusst, dass der Buchstabe/der Befehl ausgeführt wurde. Diese Tastaturen habe ich sowohl zu Hause, wie auf meiner Arbeit benutzt. Da ich mich auch nicht erinnern kann, dass in dieser Zeit jemals eine IBM Tastatur defekt geworden ist, benutze ich diese Tastaturen auch heute. Ich kann mich nicht erinnern, sie ausgetauscht zu haben (PS2-Adapter für USB!).

Vor einigen Jahren sind zwei Ereignisse eingetreten. Zum einen hatte ich zwischenzeitlich mehr Bedarf an mobiler EDV, zum anderen saß ich mit Kollegen/-innen in einem Großraumbüro. Der zweite Grund war sehr wesentlich, dass sich die Mitarbeiter über die Lautstärke meiner Tastatur beschwerten.

Nach meiner Zusage, eine andere Tastatur zu verwenden, lag innerhalb von 10 Minuten eine PC Tastatur auf meinem Tisch, wie sie üblicherweise bei einem PC mitgeliefert wird. Über den Unterschied zu meiner Tastatur war ich einfach nur verblüfft. Leise war sie. Vom Schreibgefühl fühlte ich mich in einer Form zurückgesetzt, als ob ich gar nicht schreiben könnte.

Ich begann mit mehreren Tastaturen zu experimentieren. Alles, was mitgeliefert war, entsprach nicht meinen Vorstellungen von Qualität. Aus der theoretischen Evaluierung landete ich automatisch bei den Cherry-Tastaturen, Modell G3000. Diese kann man in verschiedenen Ausführungen bestellen, die sich durch die eingesetzten Schalter unterscheiden. Nach meinem Dafürhalten handelt es sich besten derzeit kaufbaren Tastaturen, die ich kennengelernt habe.

Genaueres kann man hier nachlesen: https://www.cherrymx.de/. Ich habe die Tastaturen mit den Schaltern Blue, Clear und Black getestet. Leider haben mich die Tastaturen in einem Punkt enttäuscht. Ich hatte das Gefühl dass sie manchmal Haken wenn man sie drückt. Alles andere war wie versprochen. Ich nehme an, dass das Haken nach kurzem Geruch weggeht, aber soweit bin ich nicht gekommen. Mit der Weile bin ich berentet und schreibe nur noch zu Hause. Großraumbüro ade. (Zugegebener Weise habe ich diesen Text nicht getippt, sondern mich nach einigen Wirrungen und Irrungen an die Spracherkennung gewöhnt.)

Ach ja, die Tastatur, die mich durch die letzten Jahre meines Berufsalltags gebracht hat, war die Logitech K-800. Die fand ich leise, (die anderen auch) sie gab mir gutes Feedback und war angenehm für die Finger. Die war zumindest so gut, dass ich sie bei meiner Berentung mitgenommen habe. Wer will schon eine gebrauchte Tastatur!

Da war noch das Thema des mobilen Computings. Ich habe zutiefst Respekt vor den Menschen, die in einer affenartigen Geschwindigkeit auf einem Notebook herumklimpern. Allerdings habe ich das Gefühl, dass man diese meistens im Film sieht. Bei meinen Ansprüchen habe ich für mobiles Arbeiten zwei Tastaturen gefunden die meinen Ansprüchen genügen, zumindest mehr darstellen als einen Kompromiss. Das wären diese hier:

Keyboards for PCs

At the moment (August 2020) I have set several keyboards on eBay and I am in a dialogue with people who seem to have problems similar to mine.

I came into contact with IT for the first time in 1987. In contrast to some other professions, I actually never really learned to type. I always had the feeling that this affects a lot of colleagues in this profession. Subsequent efforts to improve the speed of my typing were also unsuccessful; there is probably a lack of ambition.

If you were dealing with IT at the time mentioned, you inevitably came across IBM keyboards. These were awfully loud, but as I now know, incredibly good. They gave feedback and you always knew the letter / command was being carried out. I have used these keyboards both at home and at work. Since I can’t remember that an IBM keyboard ever broke down during this time, I still use these keyboards today. I don’t remember exchanging them!

A few years ago two things happened. On the one hand, I meanwhile had more need for mobile IT, on the other hand, I was sitting with colleagues in an open-plan office. The second reason was very much that the staff were complaining about the volume.

After I agreed to use a different keyboard, a PC keyboard, as is usually supplied with a PC, was on my desk within 10 minutes. I was just amazed at the difference to my keyboard. She was quiet. The feeling of writing made me feel like I was not able to write at all.

I started experimenting with several keyboards. Everything that was included did not meet my expectations of quality. From the theoretical evaluation I automatically ended up with the Cherry keyboards, model G3000. These can be ordered in different versions, which differ in the switches used. In my opinion, these are the best currently available keyboards that I have come across.

I had the feeling that sometimes they hooks when you push them. Everything else was as promised. I suppose the hook will go away after a brief smell, but I didn’t get that far. Over time, I’m retired and only write at home. Goodbye open-plan offices. (Admittedly, I did not type this text, but got used to speech recognition after a few confusions and errors.)

Oh yes, the keyboard that got me through the last few years of my professional life was the Logitech K-800. I found it quiet, (the others too) it gave me good feedback and was pleasant on the fingers. At least it was so good that I took it with me when I retired. Who wants a used keyboard?

Then there was the subject of mobile computing. I have a deep respect for the people jingling around on a notebook at an ape-like speed. However, I have the feeling that you mostly see these in the film. With my requirements, I have found two keyboards for mobile work that meet my requirements, at least represent more than a compromise. That would be these here:
